Our lake is a 55-acre man made lake. It was constructed in 1958. It was originally 60 feet deep at the deepest point. It has several springs that feed into it, as well as an abundant supply of runoff water. Our lake is steep sided so you will find that there is no moss on our lake during the year. This is obviously to your advantage.
We have done quite a lot of work on this lake since my arrival in 1989. We netted approximately 15000 pounds of carp out of the lake. This project took place about 10 years ago and the lake has really responded. After the carp trapping was completed, we caught about 400, 2-2.5 pound bass from our other farm ponds and transferred them to the lake. At that point we started to raise catfish in netted pens that we then released into our lake. We added 15000 catfish at that time. We raised them until they were about 10-11 inches long before the release. They have done extremely well since then. With the increase in the Bass and Catfish we added to the lake we started to see a marked improvement in our Crappie and Blue Gill as well. They have gotten much bigger in size and the population has remained very steady.
We also have a small, self-contained, camping area for our members that they can use during the fishing season.
We allow boats with trolling motors. Our concrete unloading ramp makes getting into and out of the lake no problem
If you enjoy fishing in a quite area, give us a try. We would love to have you as a new member.
